Since Microsoft announced Windows 10 and released the preview version for download, a lot of rumours have been making waves that Microsoft is finally saying goodbye to the unpopular Internet Explorer and bringing in a new browser codename "spartan". The new browser is said to be created from the scratch and is purportedly going to look more like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. This is good news for the 99% of us who simply hate using internet explorer for surfing the internet.
The new browser will reportedly use Microsoft's Chakra JavaScript and Trident engines rather than the common WebKit, just like Internet Explorer does. It is expected to ship in with Windows 10 when it goes on sale. The "spartan" browser is expected to be fully unveiled later this month at Microsoft's media event.
The browser is expected to come with Microsoft's virtual assistant Cortana integrated into it. Leaks of the browser have also shown a darker theme being employed by Microsoft although with a clean and simpler look.
The question remains... Will you abandon Firefox or Chrome for this? Lets keep our fingers crossed.
When windows 10 is fully announced and detailed on January 21st more will be known about the "spartan" browser.
UPDATE: The Browser is called the Microsoft Edge and comes pre-installed with Windows 10. Click here to Download Windows 10.
